Ubuntu 12.04 installation step by step 




 

         Put the Ubuntu CD/DVD into the CD/DVD Drive .

         press F12 or Delete Key( Depends upon your motherboard / Brand ) . Select CD-ROM  Drive

               
        Installation will start now Follow the steps:
       

      1)  The Setup starts now . Choose language and press Enter.

      2)  Choose “Install Ubuntu” and press Enter.
 
      3)  It will take some time to analyse/load something.
 
     4)  Again choose language (English) and press Continue.

     5)  It will analyse Disk space , power source and internet connectivity and you need choose,                                               whether to install updates and other third-party softwares while installing OS
          (it may slow down the installation ). select both if you are connected to internet and press                                                Continue.
     6)  Now choose first option to use Entire disk for Ubuntu and press Continue

     7)  It will show the partition size used for ubuntu. press Install Now.

     8)  Setup will start installation in the Background , you can see the status in the bottom .

     9)  Choose Time zone and press Continue ( In the mean time setup will continue in the background ).

    10) Now choose keyboard layout , leave as it is and press Continue.

    11) Type your name , computer name , username ( for login ) and password .
              select “Log in Automatically” option, if you don’t want to type password each time. press                                                 Continue.

    12)  It will proceed with the rest of the installation.

    13)  You can also Skip some installation/configuration during setup.

    14)  Press Restart now and remove installation media( CD/DVD/USB ) while rebooting.

    15)  Select username and type password and press Login .

    16)  Completed your installation Successfully..........


How to install google chrome on ubuntu




    By default firefox is installed on ubuntu In this article we can see about installing chrome . Google chrome     installation on ubuntu is very easy....

    1) USe the below command to add the google chrome repository
srinu@ubuntu13:~$ echo "deb http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list


   2) Download and add the key file
srinu@ubuntu13:~$ wget -q -O - https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -

   3) Update the repository and install google chrome along with dependencies
srinu@ubuntu13:~$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install google-chrome-stable
  Chrome Browser Installation Completed Successfully..........




How to Install nginx webserver in ubuntu




    Nginx (pronounced engine-x) is a free, open-source, high-performance HTTP server and reverse proxy, as well as an IMAP/POP3 proxy server.with Nginx now hosts nearly 12.18% (22.2M) of active sites across all domains. Nginx is known for its high performance, stability, rich feature set, simple configuration, and low resource consumption. it serves static content 50 times faster than Apache. nginx is a perfect load balancer can able to handle more than 7000 live request per second.

  Update ubuntu repositories by giving the below command
srinu@ebiz:~$ sudo apt-get update

  To install nginx, in terminal type it bellow command:
srinu@ebiz:~$ sudo apt-get install nginx

  After installation , let’s start nginx service.
srinu@ebiz:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/nginx start

  Now open the server IP in your browser (Eg: http://49.205.232.188 ). you can see the Nginx welcome page like bellow Screen shoot





How to install gnome3 on ubuntu

Open a terminal window and type below commands

Reboot the machine

In the login page , click the ubuntu icon right after the username and now you can see gnome options , just choose gnome and then type your password and press “Enter” . That’s it , now you can use gnome3 on ubuntu

Update the repository.
srinu@ebiz:~$ sudo apt-get update

Now install adobe reader.
srinu@ebiz:~$ sudo apt-get install acroread
During installation, it will prompt to make adobe reader as a default PDF viewer . just click yes and complete the installation.
